Overview:
There are very fine SUVs that you would witness all around. But each one of them has something different or better than the other. Well, in all these clashes we find some masterpieces that are finished with the description of art and high-end mechanism. Here we are talking about the Audi Q2, which is just recently introduced to the world.
The Audi has been working on the Q-Series since long. They built the giant SUVs, tried the mid-sized ones and finally came to the mini-SUVs. The Q2 is a mini-SUV with all its actions developed like a city car. Well, the Q2 did not succeed any previous model. Nor it is an upgraded version of any car. Instead, it is a fresh entry in the slot of Audi’s SUV fleet.
Well, that was the spring of 2016 when Audi brought the Q2 out for the first time. And this all happened during the Geneva Motor Show. By the end of 2016, the Q2 was launched into the European market. Later, it went into the Asian setup, and finally, it moved here in the US. While it is expected that by the end of 2018 the Q2 will also be available in Canada.
The trim levels are mainly based on mechanism. The base trim levels get a basic kind of a supernatural drivetrain. While the upper trim levels enjoy Audi’s favorite TFSI. Further, the twist and twigs are also based on the exterior and interior ingredients.
The starting price for the Audi Q2 is $31,800. While the more you go up, the better you get, but with that, you would certainly touch $36,000 pretty easily.

Performance:
Alike rest of the Audi’s SUV fleet, the Q2 even has a pretty variant kind of drivetrain options. The options are available for the gasoline and diesel fueling. The pricing effect is even merged with the powertrain options.
Well, the Q2 begins with the 1.0 L 3-cylinder TFSI engine. It is a pretty unique kind of engine that Audi is offering nowadays, as they are not much concerned about the tri-piston cycles anymore. Anyways, this engine has 116 hp of power with 147 lb-ft of torque. Though that is quite less for an Audi. But still, this kind of a small factor engine is surviving in the Audi’s SUV fleet.
Ahead of that, the 1.4 L 4-cylinder TFSI engine with variable displacement is next in rank. Certainly, it is the same engine as the 1.0 L, but it has one more cylinder to knock. With this powertrain, you get 150 horses to pound 184 lb-ft of torque. Which is indeed pretty sober for a city rider. And the three-cylinder and this four-cylinder engines are mated with the 6-speed manual or 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission.
The final gasoline option comes with the 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine having 190 hp of power and 236 lb-ft of torque. Well, this would be the machine that would be introduced in the North American market. And it only comes mated with the 7-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel format is available with the two engine options. The base version comes with the 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine with 116 good horses. The 2.0 L comes with two tuning levels. The first being offered with 150 horses and the tuned version with 190 horses.
Not to forget, all these powertrains are turbocharged!
Exterior:
The Audi has dressed up the Q2 in the same fashion like the rest of its SUV fleet. The large front grille, LED head and tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler are some basic configurations for the exterior. Further, the crossover length is almost similar to a mid-size sedan. In a way, the Audi converted one of their sedans into an SUV.
Overall, the appearance is graceful. It embarks a sense of an entry-level SUV for a junior executive.
